Planning & Zoning
The Town of Albion’s Planning and Zoning Boards play a pivotal role in shaping the community’s growth, ensuring that development aligns with local regulations and the town’s vision for the future.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning Board:
- Development Review: Evaluating proposals for new developments, subdivisions, and site plans to ensure they meet town standards and community objectives.
- Comprehensive Planning: Formulating and updating the town’s comprehensive plan to guide long-term growth and land use decisions.
- Meetings: Planning Board will conduct meetings only upon applications being received. Meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of the month, beginning at 5:00 pm unless otherwise published. Please note all application materials must be submitted 7 days prior to a meeting date. Contact the Code Enforcement Office for information.
Zoning Board of Appeals:
- Variance Requests: Reviewing applications for variances from zoning regulations, allowing deviations when strict enforcement would cause undue hardship.
- Interpretations: Clarifying ambiguities in zoning laws to ensure consistent application and enforcement.
- Meetings: Zoning Board will conduct meetings only upon applications being received. Meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of the month, beginning at 4:00 pm unless otherwise published. Please note that all application materials must be submitted 7 days prior to a meeting date. Contact the Code Enforcement Office for information .
